HAZWOPER in Hawaii

What you need to know

Hawaii has adopted by reference the federal safety and health rules for hazardous waste operations and emergency response (HAZWOPER) in general industry workplaces (HAR 12-74.1-1). No additional state requirements apply.

The Department of Labor and Industrial Relations/Hawaii Occupational Safety and Health administers and enforces workplace safety and health rules for private and public sector workplaces in the state.
