What you need to know
Washington has adopted hazardous waste operations and emergency response (HAZWOPER) rules that mirror federal rules, and additional provisions for decontamination, site evaluations, the site-specific Health and Safety Plan, site work zone access, and hazardous waste site and post-emergency response training that are stricter than federal rules (WAC 296-843-100 to 296-843-300).
The Washington Department of Labor and Industries (DLI) administers and enforces workplace safety and health rules.
